I have always seen Tom as the white dot in the Yin-Yang symble. Even in darkness there is always a touch of light. He has seen almost total darness and light in his life. He is not effected by the ring or evil as he plays no part in that part of life. He has always been and imagines he always will be. He is the root of the truth and the light.
